10 ways to battle acne using just your groceries

Sometimes the sebum and skin cells get infected with bacteria, which cause acne.

1. Tea tree oil:

Tea tree oil is not only antibacterial, but it is also an excellent moisturising agent for the skin. In fact, it is present in a lot of cosmetic products available on the market today. Mix one part of tea tree oil with two drops of primrose oil and apply it on the infected area. After about half an hour, clean the area with a wet cotton ball.

2. Ginger:

It is a simple and fast cure for pimples. Take some peeled ginger and mash it up using a mortar. Apply the crushed mixture on the affected area. Wash the area after 10 minutes.

3. Egg white:

One of the healthiest food items in the kitchen, egg whites is also good for the skin. Egg white contains a lot of proteins that nourish the skin and reduce the marks caused by acne. Apply egg white on your skin and leave for 30 minutes, then wash it off.

4. Apple cider vinegar:

The mild acidic property of apple cider vinegar not only reduces acne, but also cleanses the skin. Apply vinegar on the affected part and wash off after 20 minutes with cool water.

5. Mint leaves:

Mint leaves leave no trace of acne! They also soothe your skin because of their cooling effect. Grind fresh mint leaves and apply a paste on your skin. Wash off after half an hour with warm water.

6. Fenugreek seeds:

Fenugreek seeds can be ground into a powder. This powder should be mixed with some water to make a paste, which can then be applied to the skin. Wash off after 1 hour and repeat twice a week to get acne-free skin.

7. Baking soda:

It is a great method to reduce acne as well as acne marks. Make a thick paste of baking soda with some water and apply it on your skin. Wash off after 5 minutes.

8. Honey and turmeric:

The anti-microbial properties of turmeric and honey are well-known. Imagine the benefit that can be derived if they are put together! Make a paste of honey and turmeric and apply it on your skin. Wash this off after an hour.

9. Garlic paste:

Garlic has antioxidant properties in addition to its potential to cure acne. Apply garlic paste on the affected part and wash off after 15-20 minutes.

10. Neem and basil leaves:

Together, they are very helpful in reducing acne to a great extent. There are two ways to use them. You can make a paste and apply it on the affected area, or you can boil both of them together and make‘rinse water’. Use this rinse water to wash your face as frequently as possible.
