Food is of the utmost importance to sustain survival. However, the choice of food that we opt for plays a more crucial role to ensure a healthy survival as varied foods have different benefits for various functions of the human body. In terms of normal functioning, the brain has a key role as it is in charge of maintaining and sustaining coordination of functions among various organs in living beings. Hence, it is of prime importance to have specialized foods effective for brainpower. Some of them are listed below:


1] Oily Fish

Fatty fish in other terms means oily fish. This type of fish includes salmons, sardines, etc which are rich sources of omega-3 fatty acids. This fatty acid is essential because a major part of our brain is made up of omega-3 fat. This fatty acid is effective for learning and memory.

Dark chocolate comprises of an antioxidant known as flavonoids. Flavonoids work in supporting the brain to deal with learning and memory. In addition, it also helps to slow down age-related illness.


5] Oranges

Oranges are rich sources of vitamin C. The key role of vitamin C is to prevent the decline of mental health. Also, vitamin C helps to prevent brain cells from damaging.


6] Nuts

Eating nuts daily as a part of diet proves to be of benefit to prevent heart-related diseases. Apart from that, nuts are also recommended majorly to school and college students as it is effective for memory.


7] Eggs

Eggs are inclusive of vitamin B6 and B12 along with several other nutrients. One of the nutrients helps in enhancing mood as well as memory. It helps with depression majorly. The consumption of eggs also helps to regulate sugar levels in the brain.


8] Green Tea

The components in green tea help to enhance alertness, performance, memory and focus. It also helps to reduce anxiety making one feel relaxed and calm.
